Loading/matching Coils
The EZ Slider coils from Amratek
Products work with most stinger (whips) that are approximately 17 feet /
5.2 meters in length on the 30, 40, and 80 meter bands.
This provides for a compact, portable antenna that can be used for Emergency communications, Field Day, Parks on the air (POTA), Summits on the air (SOTA), Volunteers on the air (VOTA), Islands on the air (IOTA), Travel, and Camping.
Where the rules of a Home owners association (HOA) don't allow antennas, this gear can act as a stealth antenna on a balcony or deck because of its low visibility (especially at night).
The EZ Slider coils are unique in that they can be used in 2 different modes.
They can be used as a normal base loading coil.
They can be connected as a matching network that can allow even lower SWR for rigs that don't have an antenna tuner.
In either mode, the EZ Slider coils benefits from high efficiency design featuring:
Low resistance copper coils (no high resistance stainless steel wire)
No sliding contacts to wear out
No shorted turn at the contact point (A shorted turn in a coil causes a high circulating current in the shorted turn which creates losses and generates heat)
Calibration scale (a high resolution scale is laser etched into each coil for repeatability of setup for various frequencies)
Weather proof (All hardware is stainless steel)
As a result of the low loss design, the coils can handle 100 Watts data, 200 Watts CW, and 300 Watts SSB

Well made and very versatile to optimize for use on 30M and 40M with the stinger antenna. Excellent instructions on how to use it properly.

I’ve made 14 POTA activations with the Amratek Products antenna system. It’s a fantastic system.
These are some of the things things I really like: Lightweight aluminum antenna that is easy to deploy and tune (I didn’t want a stainless steel telescoping antenna); tripod deploys and breaks down easily, and accepts different leg lengths that allows for deploying on sloped ground; the ends of the tripod legs are designed to accept ground stakes for secure mounting – clever!; the tripod hub has tabs that make it easy for me to directly clamp ground-plane screens to (they also have holes that accept clip leads and radials, but I attach the screens directly); low loss copper loading/matching coils that are really easy to tune.
I really, really like this overall antenna design. It is clever and well thought out. I actually bought several for multiple QTHs. I look forward to seeing what other products the company puts out.
Have not been able to put the coil to work yet, but is is very well made with attention to detail.
