I have used this base in one of two ways. First as a ground mounted vertical with radials. Second as a base for a raised Vertical (up 54 inches above the base) in the POTAPerformer configuration with raised, tuned counterpoises. This base is nice and solid. I do wish that the legs would be adjustable to allow the base to be brought to vertical when used in uneven terrain. Glad I have it. W1SWL

Used this in a few POTA activations. Holds up to high winds and is easy to deploy. A good performing antenna element. I use it in my POTAperformer antenna system with raised tuned counterpoises. W1SWL

Well made and very versatile to optimize for use on 30M and 40M with the stinger antenna. Excellent instructions on how to use it properly.

Well designed and made. Easy to extend and clamp each section in place. Easy to set length for desired band.

I’ve made 14 POTA activations with the Amratek Products antenna system. It’s a fantastic system.

These are some of the things things I really like: Lightweight aluminum antenna that is easy to deploy and tune (I didn’t want a stainless steel telescoping antenna); tripod deploys and breaks down easily, and accepts different leg lengths that allows for deploying on sloped ground; the ends of the tripod legs are designed to accept ground stakes for secure mounting – clever!; the tripod hub has tabs that make it easy for me to directly clamp ground-plane screens to (they also have holes that accept clip leads and radials, but I attach the screens directly); low loss copper loading/matching coils that are really easy to tune.

I really, really like this overall antenna design. It is clever and well thought out. I actually bought several for multiple QTHs. I look forward to seeing what other products the company puts out.

Have not been able to put the coil to work yet, but is is very well made with attention to detail.
